Sept. 6 Depart Los Angeles
7 Arrive Shanghai – Met by guide and transferred to the Ramada
Plaza Hotel.
8 Shanghai – Guide will take you to the famous Yu Garden in the old
section of Shanghai. After lunch you will go to the Jade Buddha
Temple and the French Concession Area as well as a short tour
of the Pudong new area. BL dinner on your own.
9 Shanghai
– Free day on your own. B.
only. (Guide will give you
tickets
for the Shanghai Acrobats Show the day before for
tonights
performance! ) Go by yourselves by
taxi.
10 Shanghai/Suzhou by train. (40 minutes) Guide will transfer you to
the train station and see that you get in your reserved seats. When
you arrive in Suzhou Stay on the platform outside your car until
the guide finds you. He or she will know which car you are in.
Guide will take you to the Humble Administrators Garden and the
Silk factory with fashion show and show rooms before lunch.
After lunch you will visit Tiger Hill Park, take a short ride by boat
on the Grand Canal and side canals. Visit the Garden of the Nets
and stop for tea at the QianTang Char Ren old Tea House. Transfer
to the Sheraton Hotel. BL dinner on your own.
11 Suzhou
– Free on your own today – B. only.
12 Suzhou/JingXi/Luzhi Town/Suzhou/Ferry. Guide will take you to
the wonderful lake towns where officials had their summer homes
during the Qing Dynasty. Beautiful canals with arched bridges,
narrow walk ways with no cars all like it was 100 years ago. Guide
will transfer you back to Suzhou to board the evening ferry to
Hangzhou after dinner. BLD
13 Hangzhou – Arrive in Hangzhou in the morning and met by the local
guide who will take you to breakfast and transfer you to the Shangri-la
Hotel to freshen up. Guide will take you to the Tea Factory
and the Lingyin Si Temple built in the year 326. After lunch you will
take a boat ride on the famous West Lake and go to the Evening
Sunlight at Thunder Peak Pagoda and Yellow Dragon Cave. BLD
14 Hangzhou/Shanghai/YiChang. Guide will transfer you to the train
station for your train #K164 Lvs. 06:30 Arr. 09:32 Met by local
agent and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to
YiChang. Last flight leaves at 13:25 and arrives YiChang at 15:05.
Met by local agent and taken to dinner before transferring to the
Victoria Cruise boat. BD.
15 Yangtze River Cruise – Will send you a brochure with the details of
the Cruise itinerary which includes a close up inspection of the dam,
activities on the boat, evening entertainment and all off boat excursions

18 Arrive in Chongqing. Agent will come on board to meet you and
transfer you to Wanyou Confir Hotel.. Free the rest of the day. B. only.
(suggest that you visit the New Yangtze River Project Museum)
19 Chongqing/Dazu/Chongqing. Guide will take you through the countryside
to Dazu. Visit Beishan mountain with the Baoding Stone Carvings.
Spend the day here before returning to Chongqing and your hotel. BL
dinner on your own.
20 Chongqing/Xian – Guide will transfer you to the airport for your late
morning flight to Xian (earliest flight is at 11:00 arriving at 12:00)
Guide in Xian will meet you and transfer you to the Mercure Hotel.
Balance of day free. B only
21 Xian – Guide will take you to the famous Terra Cotta Warriors site in the
morning with lunch at the museum. After lunch you will visit the Winter
Palace of the Tang Dynasty known as the HuaQing Pools. You will
then visit the new Jade Carving Workshop where you will see a museum
quality assortment of beautiful Jade Carvings as well as many other
displays. Evening performance of the Tang Dynasty Show and dinner.

22 Xian/Shanghai by afternoon air. In the morning the guide will take you
to the best Provincial Museum in China the Shaanzi National Museum.
After lunch you will be transferred to the airport for your afternoon flight
to Shanghai. In Shanghai you will be met by the local agent and
transferred the Peace Hotel North Tower Superior Room.
BL dinner on your own.
23 Shanghai/Home Guide will transfer you to the Pudong International
airport for your flight home. B. only.
Included: Hotels (you have not given me guidance on this yet) all domestic
transportation, English speaking guides with private cars and drivers,
Yangtze River Cruise on the Victoria line, meals as indicated, sightseeing
and some evening entertainment as listed, and ferry transportation.
Not included: Tips to guides and drivers, Chinese visa (we have the forms and
instructions to apply on your own) and any expenses of a personal
nature or not specifically listed as included.
International Air. International air can be quoted but must be paid for within 48 hours.
or you may do your own international air direct if you wish with the
airlines. Your choice. I suggest that you book China Eastern
yourself directly. I can suggest a source for you here in Seattle to
check if you can get a better price.
