Zharu Valley Hiking & Camping

1 Day Hiking in the Valley

Day       Meet your English speaking guide at the visitor center for a short briefing

            on your day.  Take a bus to Zharu Valley entrance.  You may visit a Tibetan

            family in their home and or take your hike to the "ruins" and as far hiking

            as you wish into the valley.  Bus back to the visitor center at the end of the

            day.  (itinerary must be attached to a normal visit and payment to the main park)

Cost:  $75. pp with 2 person minimum; Max. 15 people.  (lunch not included)

2 Day Hiking & Camping Zharu Valley  - 10 Mile Hike

Day   1  Meet your guide at the visitor center for safety and environmental briefing.

            Collect camping equipment and food.  Travel by bus to Re Xi village within

            Zharu Valley (about 8 miles)   Hike along Qu Wa Ping cultural trail (1.2 miles)

            through to the Guo Du village ruins (1.0 mile) and continue along the

            bio-diversity trail.  (5.0 miles)  Continue on to the camp site at Ran Wu Gu Lang

            (2.4 miles) at about 7,500 feet above sea level.

Day   2  Walk 2.5 miles back to the road and return to the park entrance by bus.  Visitors

            have the option of exploring the main valleys of Jiuzhai Valley National park

            independently during the rest of the day.  Entrance fee is included.

Included:  Camping equipment, food for duration of the hike, English speaking guide and entrance fees for both  Zharu Valley and Jiuzhaigou Main park. 

Cost:  $175. pp with 2 persons minimum; 10 persons maximum

4 Day Hiking & Camping - Zha Yi Zha Ga Mountain Trek - 23 Miles

Day   1   Meet your guide at the visitor center for a safety and environmental briefing.

            Collect camping equipment and food.  Travel by bus to Zharu Valley  (15 miles)

            Start Zha Yi Zha Ga mountain trek and ascend 10 miles to Qu Bu Campsite at

            11,000 feet. 

Day   2  Challenging 3.5 mile climb to the sacred point of Zha Yi Zha Ga mountain at

            13,000 feet.   Hike 4 miles to Cuo Ye Campsite.

Day   3  Descent 5.5 miles to Re Xi Village, the end point of the mountain

            circumnavigation.   Return to the park entrance by bus.

Day   4  Visit the main park of Jiuzhaigou independently with entrance tickets included

            for the whole day. 

Included:  Camping equipment, food for the duration of the hike, English speaking guide and

           entrance fees for both Zharu Valley and Jiuzhaigou Main park.

Cost:   $300. pp with 2 person minimum; 10 persons maximum
